The birth of the light

Dear readers, as usual I’m going to take a break from this blog until the second week in January. In my tradition, this is a special time that I try to keep a bit separate from ordinary life, using it to reflect on the past and prepare for the challenges to come in the New Year. Whatever and however you celebrate, I wish you peace, joy, and strength for the tasks ahead. I am thankful for your presence on this journey with me.

Below is a quote from the medieval German mystic Meister Eckhart, that I hope will resonate with you as it does with me. Having just been through the great battle of Light and Dark in Susan Cooper’s fantasy series, it reminds me that seemingly opposing forces can come together when we settle into a quiet space in our hearts. I hope that we can all find that space, in this season of turning toward the light.

See you in 2023!

  1. Have a wonderful restful break from blogging, Lory, and see you in 2023. I’ve scheduled a few posts to tie my blogs over the holiday season but I too am looking forward to a few less hectic days, even a bit of boredom, and also a healthy dose of reading. Nadolig Llawen to you and yours!

  2. I have two more of TDiRS books to go🙂

After a year that felt a bit off and disorganised and a rather trying first part of December that quote is certainly inspiring. Hope I do find some rays of light amidst it all.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a lovely transition into 2023!
