Witch Week 2021 begins!

Today, I am honored to be the author of the inaugural post of this year’s Witch Week, a celebration of fantasy literature that I began some years ago and that now carries on thanks to the good graces of Calmgrove and Lizzie Ross, Writer.

The theme this year is Treason and Plot, and when asked to come up with a guest post idea, my thoughts turned to the Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. This magnificent sequence came to a close last year, and it seems the perfect time to celebrate it — and perhaps direct some readers who have not yet experienced the pleasures of its tricksy, twisty, plot-filled political fantasy to do so. You won’t regret it, I assure you.

So please head over to Calmgrove today for my post, and keep visiting every day for the next week! I can’t wait to find out all that there is in store for us.

    1. The fantasy element is subtle enough that I think non-fantasy fans could still love these books. It has to do with the interaction of the godly or mythic dimension with the everyday, in a way that is not always comfortable for the characters.

  1. Well, based on your review I have the first book checked out of the library and will give it a try. I can’t find any further Witch Week 2021 posts?

    1. Great, hope it’s a success. Witch week is still going on at calmgrove.wordpress.com, last I checked. A new post each day.
